SubtitleSource offers subtitles to videos in eight different languages. By it is unique well-structured design it helps you find the correct subtitle right away, instead of having to test many different unsynched versions. Our site is made to be as simple, easy and efficient as possible to use.

Background

This site started out in the middle of the summer 2007 with just one purpose - to deliver subtitles quicker, easier and better than all the other sites. But since many know that developing a website is a work in progress version (especially when you are green), it didn't get as much attention as we hoped. So a new version (2.0) was released in January 2008 that contained a lot of upgrades and improvements. That gained a lot of attention, even a little bit too much to be honest, we had to do three major server upgrades in just a couple of months!

During the late autumn of 2008 the whole site was rewritten from scratcg to optimize everything and focus more on the niche of the site. The features on the previous version were working, but there were no interaction between them. After a couple of hundred hours of slaving with code the new 3.0 version was released in the middle of Januari 2009. Some additional features such as request and rss mail were added later on. During this phase we broke the 50 000 unique visitors per day limit!
